I fail at education

I've been working all day and I don't like it. Only 5 weeks till my interview for an illustration course at Bournemouth next year. I will be eaten alive

We had portfolio reviews the other day. Out of everything I've done this year, the only piece to catch my tutors eye was the charcoal portrait I did with my EYES CLOSED.
... THAT JUST TAKES THE FRICKIN' WILLY.

So yeah. If I fuck this up, maybe I'll take a gap year then try and get onto a creative writing course or something. It's pretty much the only thing I have a decent A level in and I'm sorta-kinda-maybe-okayish at. Art was my backup plan, this would be the backup plan to rescue my failing backup plan.

Nobody really wants to know this but hey.

But you applied to other places right? It really sucks how many are doing illustration now as well, i've wanted to do illustration since before i got to bournemouth and now its like D:

I wish I signed up for the year 0 like my friends did lawwwl.

Bascially people on that course have applied for the full degree course at Bmouth but they have to first comeplete year 0 so that theyre ready for degree...as long as they complete that course they automatically get onto the course. My friends David and Louise are year 0 they're doing illustration next year.

Same, I'm kinda wanting to stay at Bmouth coz its not a huuuge city and I already know people who will be on the course next year

I don't think I would have been offered year 0. I reckon I only just managed to get onto the foundation course

Yeahh I wanna stay on because its probably the best course I can aim for... if that makes any sense >_< I couldn't get into anywhere better.

loool i only just managed it, at least they let you in first time, Mr. Gummer had to yell at them before they let me in

I'm thinking if I do get a place at Bmouth I'd 95% take it, but the question is IF

Yeah, if I apply later in the year to somewhere better than bomo and I get a place then I might go there instead... not that its gunna ever happen but you know.

The sad fact is that we have SO many people to compete against for a very small number of places

I thought about taking the vis com degree instead because there would be less people to compete against but I think my portfolio is too biased towards illustration for that. Gahh, I'm rambling now... can you tell I'm worried?

lol well its hard to say..idk what other unis will think of my work :S

yeah its really depressing, but oh well...idk see what happens really. I'm just kinda annoyed that Bmouth was like, "lots of sketchbook work looks good at interviews," and now they're like, "you need a good portfolio that way they'll take you"... :\
